Tesla EV discussion

Saw this:

Still 50k km warranty on the drive-train. Full warranty has run out after 80k km.

50% off after 150 months.

I would say it’s a good deal, if you can live with the quirks (and can stomach the out-of-warranty repairs).

Oh, has this been mentioned:

This weekend

One can tune a Tesla?

Suspension, tires, rims, brakepads. 3rd-party replacements for spoilers and other body-work are available.

Of course, you can’t “tune” them like an ICE car by re-programming the ECU for more power. But they already have more power than most can handle - and in the case of the Model 3, the limit is the battery anyway: the motors could actually go higher.

And of course, there’s the track package for the Model S Plaid.

If you find some spare cash between the sofa-cushions…

You can pay CHF2,000 for “acceleration boost” and get an instant over the air power upgrade.
But I would recommend driving without to see if you really need and can use the extra power. Your passengers will let you know soon enough…

What a nice way to make a profit. And to think that electricians make a killing hooking up telephone service!

Or your insurance company…

It doesn’t impact top speed. Just acceleration from 0 to about 90 or 100.

It’s actually a bargain compared to tuning an ICE to gain the same boost in performance - and takes only seconds to upgrade…

What does the upgrade cost you in terms of range and battery life? Are insurance costs affected?

Once went to my garage to see about a dead spot during acceleration. After going out for a test drive, my mechanic decided to give the car a rally tuning. All for no charge. Now that was a bargain!

None at all - unless it’s used continuously at every opportunity. The acceleration is so absurd that women scream, men weep and policemen hand in their badges.
The standard acceleration is so strong that I have not bought it for my current Model Y.

I never advised my insurance company…

Anything like this?

I suggest you rent a Model S Plaid.

It takes a bit to warm up the battery, but then the start is literally breathtaking.

The Robotaxi service started i Ausrin on the 22nd
Although this is currently limited to friends and fans there are videos circulating of disturbing incidents which may be the cause of Tesla shares falling 9% this week.

It is too soon to draw any conclusions but it is probably safe to say this service is not a great success yet.

what?

The Tesla Robotaxi service started in Austin, Texas on the 22nd

Better?

much better. But if I wanted some details, there is still no link :slightly_smiling_face:

Just for you

Rainer_d loves this publication

awww, thank you. It was pretty interesting actually. But I’m not convinced.
Am I allowed to be drunk riding that taxi? I mean after all they can not charge me for accidents, right?

" Robotaxi stops in middle of street for about a minute" did Tesla learn that in Switzerland? People do that here often, stretching their necks trying to find an address I assume.

I definitely think these robo-taxis should be clearly marked as such, so real people understand why these things stand in crossings and/or can expect those vehicles to do strange things.

That’s the train  You’re entitled to be drunk and still drink more while traveling in the train as long as you don’t bother other passengers.
