She really loves animals, offers an excellent and conscientious service, and her rates are very reasonable.
I have gathered these names from various sources:
1. Jackies in Wädenswil
2. Gerenau Stiftung für Tierschutz in Wadenswil
3. Tierheim Gredig in Au
4. VI Pets in Altendorf
5. Angelas Hundesitting in Feusisberg (closing down permanently)
I shall be visiting them over next few days to decide.
Would appreciate any experiences about these places or anything new that you would recommend.
Thanks,
We have two elderly (18) Birmans still in relatively good health. They do need some TLC though.
Thanks!
Any catsitters or cat hotels one can recommend in basel area??
Thanks
I am moving to Geneva in January 2021, with my daughter, husband and 2 year old Yorkshire Terrier from London.
My husband will be working from home though he might have to spend several weeks at a time in London. Any recommendations for dog walkers (and boarding options in Geneva) most appreciated.
Thanks very much
Kalipso
We have used them for 3 years now and our Daisy LOVES going there, they do not keep the dogs in cages but rather assign them each a "roommate" to bunk with in their own room. They are very reasonable, price around 45 chf/day including 2 big walks and food. She even sent us a Christmas card the last two years with Daisy's photo!
She also sells the pet food, forget the brand but it's the German one that is high quality....she wholesales it lower price than the pet stores.
Anyway, hope it helps someone!
We have an American Staffordshire Terrier, and just moved to Baden, Aargau. We are struggling to find a holiday/vacation boarding facility that accepts our breed. Any other Staffie parents out there who have found a good Hundebetreuung in Aargau area?
If so, try NF-Dogshome:
FYI, the nasal KC vaxx is required, the combi isn't enough. Also, a trial stay is needed before a holiday stay.
I would suggest writing them, and if they are able to take your pup ask for a meeting so that both sides assess the suitability.
I have not used NF Dogshome so bear that in mind - but it was recommended to me by our behavioral specialist as the only place in Switzerland with the capacity to care for my 'challenging' mutt.
NF Dogshome has a strong Tierschutz ethos.
We have done trial stays, which went well.
Prices are on the website; note that you can book extra services during your dog's stay.
Hope you find a suitable solution.
As always, different rules in different cantons. There is no federal BSL.
Here are the AG laws:
https://www.tierimrecht.org/de/recht/hunderecht/aargau/
You'll note that even in AG, where several breeds are restricted, visitors may bring their listed dogs as long as they abide by the provisions laid out in AG law: Only walked singly, and on lead. The same goes for dogs who are temporarily in the care of someone in AG.
(Many of the cantons with BSL restrictions and even bans allow temporary visits, btw.)
And here SG:
https://www.tierimrecht.org/de/recht...cht/st-gallen/
SG has no BSL restrictions/bans.

I've read many comments in many threatds where posters misunderstand how dog law works in Switzerland, so once more with feeling:
There is no federal BSL.
Each canton has different laws - never assume what applies in X automatically appies in Y.
The IMO best place to understand how differently each canton views dog law is the summary provided by Tier Im Recht, here:
https://www.tierimrecht.org/en/legal...onal-Dog-Laws/
And finally, when in doubt, contact your cantonal Veterinämt.
That would mean, then, that anyone wanting to transport a dog of a breed that is not permitted everywhere (in this case, from AG to SG, if they took your suggestion of the boarding place in Bad Ragaz), would need to check with each cantonal Vet authority of all the cantons inbetween (depending on the route this could include, say, ZH and ZG) to find out what their rules are.
Once again, meloncollie, thank you for your tireless work here on this Forum, to keep dogs and their owners safe.
