TRSF table

Anyone know what that is on a restaurant bill? Had a nice meal with some friends last week and looking over the bill today I see this. Is it a service charge or something?

You forgot the picture.

I think we’re going to need a bit more information than that.
Where did it appear on the bill, how much was it…etc etc.

Let’s start with the language  FR/DE/IT?

French, end of the bill and CHF43.

It is a fascinating guessing game, but maybe you should ask at the restaurant.

It seems to me the most logical thing to do would have been to ask them at the time, 43chf is a lot of money.

I didn’t see the bill then as I wasn’t the one who paid it.

I’m going to guess it’s something to do with a service fee (frais de service) - that’s the SF part.
The first part could be Ticket-Restaurant is a Restaurant voucher in French.

So perhaps it’s a Restaurant voucher service fee (Ticket Restaurant Service Frais).

Does that fit the context of the meal?

Well, I don’t know what that is, but we had no vouchers or anything else for the restaurant. We made a reservation the day before, went along and had our meal which was very enjoyably, paid the bill and left. Only reason we went to that particular one was because we couldn’t get into our first choice and husband had been to this one years ago and knew it was good.

Here’s their blog.

It could be a recommended service tip (Service Frais) they add with T meaning Table and R meaning recommandé.

Was it on the bill, or also part of the bill? It may be a calculated percentage of the total bill (20% or something)?

“Transfer”?

I’ll scan the bill later and post the screnshot.

It’s not something I’ve ever seen in any restaurant bills here.

I have to say that I’m very surprised that anyone would just blindly pay a bill without questioning what that particular item was for, especially for such a high amount.

The three items directly above it add up to CHF 43. Could it just be a subtotal?

seems that’s the adding of that part for whatever reason
