This should be Starmer’s strategy.

Latest YouGov poll shows Conservatives in third place, one %point behind Nigel.
Yet YouGov is still projecting 0 seats for Reform. Here’s hoping that sticks.
Just came across this:
Apparently 1 in 10 Reform candidates are Facebook “friends” with a British fascist. Farage’s excuse seems to be that Reform hasn’t had time to vet its candidates and they probably liked inappropriate stuff online unwittingly because they’re “oiks” (well, he says rather irrelevantly that he’s sorry but not all Reform candidates went to Eton - he could have said Dulwich College).
It’s interesting watching how he now has to cope on the media round and in TV debates. He’s good at soundbites and that got him through Brexit. He didn’t need much in the way of facts, figures, policy or even logic.
Now he seems to be struggling to keep up with the more seasoned politicians and their ability to perform when on the spot either in front of journalists or a studio audience with unrehearsed questions. I’m not at the feeling-sorry-for-him stage yet, though.
With any luck more people will start to realise he’s nothing more than a fart in a bag.
It seems like Britain should be run by the man down the pub, a paragon of common sense.
Brilliant parody of Angela Rayner ( Deputy Leader of the Labour Party ) giving the latest weather forecast on the prospects for the two main parties in next months General Election.
Can anyone confirm for me, that I don’t have to pay for postage on my UK postal vote? It says “no stamp required” “Reponse Payee Grande-Bretagne” and “airmail” - but I’m still paranoid.
According to the Electoral Commission website you don’t need a stamp.
If I were you I’d go to the post office and send it express. Damn the cost …
The most plausible is that the employers’ lobbying for cheap labour, damned be the long term societal costs, define the actual policy. If the immigrant influx were stopped, then some salaries would have to rise, eating into profits.
Looks like the Tories are desperate !! with this video showing ‘Boris is Back’ urging voters in Normanton & Hemsworth to vote Conservative, to avoid Labour returning to power with ( as he puts it !! ) more Wokery, kowtowing to Brussels & more illegal immigration. Suffice to say Boris is also looking more disheveled than usual in this video. Lol !!

I thought I could watch this short clip, but 30 seconds in I had to mute it and read the subtitles instead as the 2nd hand embarrassment was just unbearable.
Mine just came with a “Freepost plus” envelope which I’m sure isn’t valid here.
Good to see some have received their postal ballot papers… I haven’t yet (and did get the confirmation weeks ago that I’d done everything correctly to receive them)
I think it needs to say ‘ International Business Reply Service’, ‘International Business Reply Mail’, ‘International Business Response Service’, ‘IBRS’ or, in French, Correspondance Commerciale-Réponse Internationale (CCRI) to be valid across borders.
Yeah, mine didn’t arrive yet either. They screwed up a little bit when I applied, the second part of the process (to get the postal vote for this specific ballot) relying on the first part, as in you tick a box in the second application indicating that you’ve only just done the first one, but they initially just told me I wasn’t registered there, despite that box being ticked. Possibly delayed it by a day or two. And then they queried the address to send the ballot paper, apparently the application included the old (UK) address that I used to live at, not the new one here.
Anyway, too late now, but next time…
Well I didn’t trust the postal service so decided to bring forward a trip to the UK so I could vote in person on Thursday (I’ve already registered).
I anticipate a carnival weekend will follow

My eldest went to North East Wales recently. I happened to listen to Claire North’s 84K novel at that time. Looking at photos and messages sent from Wales made me somehow forget that the novel was supposed to be ‘dystopian’.
