Vaccines are really necessary

Politics overtaken by reality

Great

Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s changes to vaccine policy, including the reduction of the recommended childhood immunizations and his remaking of a key vaccine advisory panel.

U.S. District Judge Brian E. Murphy, a Biden appointee, granted a motion by the American Academy of Pediatrics for a preliminary injunction against the reduced childhood immunization schedule earlier this year, along with the remaking of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, invalidating all votes made by the committee since.

Murphy found that the reconstitution of the ACIP last year failed to abide by the Federal Advisory Committee Act. He also found that the CDC bypassing the ACIP when changing the childhood immunization schedule was both a “technical, procedural failure” and “an abandonment of the technical knowledge and expertise embodied by that committee.”

An interesting article on the benefits of mRNA vaccines
I hope you can read it, I have some sort of special access not a paid subscription

I was able to access the article, but suspect it isn’t unlimited.

Mistakes are the best teacher. I wonder how many people who question vaccines would board a plane without a certified air crew, walk a bridge designed by a priest, accept to undergo anaesthesia and surgery by a cook…

One of my grandmas was a farmer, went to school up to third grade and yet could do arithmetic extremely well, write in calligraphy without ever making a spelling or grammar error and speak with coherent, well-structured sentences. She didn’t have many books, most of her reading was religious texts and romance novels, nothing academic. Seems to me education in the past was more basic, but also a lot more grounded and practical. We literally say “go to school to learn letters” in Greek. If you’d ask her about something she didn’t know she’d say “I’m sorry, I don’t know these things”, so she knew what she knew, and critically she also knew what she didn’t know, and defer to competent authority. That’s wisdom that’s lost nowadays.

Expect this stupidity to spread–unfortunately, most of the victims will be kids:

Black comedy, the mRNA vaccines were the safest ever produced.

It is surprising that there is enough unvaccinated blood around as most children get vaccinated, around 90% in the US according to google.

The article suggests it’s mainly the Covid vaccines that they are afraid of, although even the article points out that it’s hard to screen for it because it’s difficult to tell the difference between the vaccinated blood, and blood with self-produced antibodies resulting from an infection.

There’s a lesson in there somewhere for those anti-vaxxers.

I wonder how many of those people requesting vaccine-free blood have actually given their blood themselves. I was a regular blood donor until be placed on hormone thearapy.

I’ve never given blood, since the Swiss, among others, banned anyone who’d lived in the UK back in the BSE days from donating. I don’t think that’s ever been rescinded, has it?

Yes it has. It was rescinded earlier this year in Switzerland.

Cool.

But on checking I now fall foul of the age limit. Why are over-60s excluded, I wonder?

ChatGPT (sorry!) says it’s just first time donors that have to be under 60. Experienced donors can continue to 75, health conditions permitting.

Simply because they are an unknown in their reactions to giving blood and as people age, more cardio-vascular problems may make the donation more difficult and result in fainting or getting dizzy.
Nothing wrong with the blood.

I was going to give blood a couple of weeks ago but reading the small print, any medical procedure in the last four months (such as a colonoscopy) is a bar to donation.
I’m also suffering from concussion so that’s another bar.

I’ve got universal blood too so it can be given to anyone!

“A report showing the efficacy of the covid-19 vaccine that was previously delayed by the head of the CDC has been blocked from being published in the agency’s flagship scientific journal, according to people familiar with the decision.”

Not a vaccine but relevant here on this thread because of the fear-mongering caused by the anti-vaccine brigade, there are now reports of newborn and up to six-months old babies dying in the US of bleeding because their parents have refused the at-birth Vitamin K injection.

Babies have a very low level of Vt. K which means they have an inability of blood to clot.
This injection prevents this and is given at the same time as the Hep vaccine.
