You make the assumption that we get waxed for men . . . .
Waxing also lasts three to 4 weeks and is less prone to the "itch" factor.
However, we are forgetting here that you don t have to wax everything
Waxing is the best solution for long(er) hair control. No matter the area.
A friend of mine was shaving her underarms, for years, until one day she realised that the area covered in hairs had grown exponentially. Shaving means you're also getting the small "baby" hair that no one can see or feel, and transforming it into dark grown-up hair. Don't want that to happen, now, do you? Compare it to the teenage boy who really wants his beard, so starts shaving... (or is that a myth?)
Everything else is a question of taste. Some women like their armpits hairy, some cherish their beard, whatever floats your boat (and that of the consenting partner).
For legs and underarm, I also recommend oriental wax. It's a small ball, gets worked into the skin quite strongly, which takes longer than your usual waxing session. But it is almost painless, and lasts for months after that. (By the way, if anybody know of a place in Zürich... I'll trade for a recommendation in Paris)
PS: psychological and physical recovery complete.
Laser treatment?
eh?
I don't belong here...
shaving every day is not painful or itchy. but again, maybe its because I do not shave "those" areas...
anyway, I got the "ladies only" message now.
After making me wait for 15min, they let me go into the cabin. Another 10min latter and * gasp * Melanie finally managed to start doing my legs. After a while she realizes she is not going to finish it on time to close the shop and asks someone to help her. 5 minutes latter, a girl called Jennifer comes into the room, and they both start finishing the job. Frankly, i could not say what was worse: Melanie and Jennifer rushing and asking "do you mind if i leave it like this...?" or Jennifer pulling the stripes so slow that i could the hair would be coming out 1 by 1. OUCH.
I was finally rushed off to the cashier, and they get me the wrong bill. After a bit tense conversation they finally realized that they made a mistake, and correct the bill. Mind you a 50CHF mistake in a 125CHF bill is not a minor overlook....
Evidently rushes are the enemy of perfection - my legs have patches all over Add to this that Melanie seems to need to go back to school to learn how a bikini line should look like.
Have no idea where i am going to go next time, but i can tell you that i won't set a foot at Bleicherweg in a very long time.....
I know of one place that might be good. I haven't tried them myself though for a wax (as I epilate and Weet) but it is a Spanish salon and the Spanish have a knack for depilation. It is called: Marina Farina
Coiffeurgeschäft Dedos
Militärstrasse 84
8004 Zürich Kreis 4 (Langstrasse)
So EF ladies, I call for a BOYCOTT of Vanity Bleicherweg. What do you say?
Apparently Celeste in Seefeld is not bad (from other thread recos).
@Tilia: I agree, the depilady is fine for most situations (just more work intensive than waxing), and it does work on armpits too, it simply requires some technique... But do avoid bringing it close to your bikini.
Hope this helps.
The place where I go Celeste Cosmetic has some "offers" that they are not widely advertising. At the moment they have two Praktikantinnen working.
One, who has been there a year learning and watching, will now do facials, nails, waxing etc for 40% cheaper than the normal price. (I asked questions, she seems good and reliable )
The second is at the end of her massage school education and is giving massages for 20% less than the normal price.
For those of you interested in these kinds of things give them a call and ask.
Cheers
I'm really interested in something like that, especially for the Bikini area.
Are they good at it?
Bikini 35 CHF
Brazilian 50 CHF
Eyebrows 40 CHF
