German romantic composer Max Bruch’s Keltische Melodien, op.56 in E minor. This guy’s face is playing the music.
I tecently refound Mike Harding
Quite enjoy the ballards and the jokes.
Oh, god, The Shoals of Herring!!! The silver darlings.
And if she has a baby, it’s gonna be a mackerel!
The 14 1/2 lb budgie.
I was watching this short documentary on MJ’s drummer:
I’m back on the relaxation music again as I’m waking up every 2 hours. Not been helped by having a sore throat all week so I can’t do hospital visits.
@Cherub, how’s your OH doing? We’ve not heard from you lately.
I just posted something on the thread about his accident, thanks for asking.
I have Alexa playing “Sleepytime” music.
Every now and then I come back to Elise Trouw’s cover of Enter Sandman
I was listening to this just as background to work.
Nice and tranquil. At some point, a damned MOOG comes out of nowhere and kicks like an angry mule. Bit after, the warm sound of a synth fills the room…ladies and gents, we’re floating in space.
The only underwhelming thing here is the camera work. The pedal work is never shown, and I really want to see WTF she’s doing.
Angine de poitrine [angina pectoris].
The duo uses microtonality. Normal tonality is based on 12 notes, microtonality are the sounds/frequencies that are in the middle of the 12 normal neighboring note pairs. One-quarter and one-third notes if you will.
They sound weird and kinda off yet quite interesting. Intriguing. I guess it’s very difficult to make it sound … palatable … as the notes go quite against what we’re used to.
And here they are in an interview. The costumes are their usual attire, also during live performances - they’re anonymous. Daft Punk v2.0.
Dang, that French/Québecois is even weirder than the music!
Friday night? Radio Swiss Jazz. Dave Brubeck quartet. Take Five.
Kind of Blue. My favourite for years.
Tbrncl!
Ahhh, the bass <3
Quincy Jones for me recently, especially his old stuff like Soul Bossa Nova and Comin’ Home.
However I prefer the original Chaz Jankel version of Ai No Corrida, I was a big fan of his in the early 80s.
Literally, it’s drum & bass. But it’s not that 1990s thingy, it’s better.
With enough processing of the bass signals…anything can be done.
And you think Swiss can yodel??
I fell for the woke and leftist Swiss public broadcasting. I was listening to SRF3 last night in a show where they music from albums about to be released this week or soon.
Good news, new album from Boards of Canada later this month:
I’m usually more into Jazz, e.g.
but my son (via his gf originally from Honduras) recently introduced me to Cumbia, which I can listen to for hours, especially when doing chores like cleaning the house or so.
I know it’s kind of a goofy range … but what can I say?
I like him, too, but the artist’s name readily reminded of something I posted on Google’s internal G+ version back when it was a thing (maybe close to 15 years ago or so):
A colleague immediately responded with “No takers.” … [1]
Edit:
+1
And Bitches Brew …
1 I couldn’t find the original image I posted anymore, so had AI recreate it. Gemini outright refused because public figures, etc, even with some workarounds I tried. After fiddling with it for about 5 minutes, I turned to Grok who produced what I asked without asking any questions …
