Hi, I'm doing a trip to Zurich by car next week, and I will be there 24 hours approximately. I've been looking for parking garages next to the city center, but I don't find enough information to make an idea of the average of money I have to spent.
Can you tell me what's the cheapest way to park in Zurich? Is it possible to park my car for 24 hours paying up to 30 CHF (e. g.)?
Park just outside the city at a train station, you can buy a one day ticket in the ticket office, price will be less than CHF 10.00 for 24 hours (less than 5.00 if you are a long way out) and then get the train into the city. Parking in town generally costs CHF 2.00 per hour in car parks.
At the top of Uetlibergstrasse is car parking, 5chf for 18hours. Add the 8.40chf for the days tram ticket. You can get the number 13 tram from there which will take you right into the main train station and beyond.
Even better, park at the big dirt lot across from the tram 13 stop called Strassenverkehrsamt (2nd from the end station). Its a huge lot and free of charge.
All over the city, there are blue parking zones (as marked on the streets), where you can park for a day for CHF 15. You need a Tagesbewilligung which can be bought from the police. If you are visiting someone in Zurich, ask and they will probably have one.
Also, it depends on the day. If your 24 hours are on the weekend (Saturday 4pm through Monday 8am), parking in the white zones in the residential areas is free.
Thank you for your tips. Finally, we parked in the Opernhaus parking because my partner didn't want to spend time in going away the city and come back... And obviusly, it was expensive. You have to spend time or spend money, you know.
But I hope this thread is helpful for another people who want to visit Zurich!
Back in the day this was rented to Credit Suisse - and you needed to register your number plate to use this area. People used to get ticketed if they didn't have permission to park.
do you know if there is possibility to buy a ticket for several days in advance? I need the parking for let's say 3 weeks in a row (I do not need my car during that period). Is it possible to set it at once?
Probably need to park in Schaffhausen and take the train...
Nah seriously, you might want to consider the long-term parking lot at the airport (P60/Werft Parking) - will probably cost around 230.- for 20 days, see here: http://www.zurich-airport.com/passen...351.1407931489
Or maybe you can rent a parking space for a full month in one of the public garages, but I'm really not sure this can be done on short notice and/or only for a month. Plus I think it'll still be more expensive (probably around 400-500).
