where is the best Italian pizza in Geneva

I live in Zurich but will be visiting Geneva tomorrow to see the Tindersticks play live.

Me and my buddy are kinda pizza conneusours (how do you spell this word?), so would like to discover geneva's best ITALIAN style pizza.

Any tips?

Thanks

Greg

So far the best I've found is at Da Paolo's which can be found here . It is a smoking restaurant though if that is a problem for you...

PS - Connoisseurs

Connoisseur.

Thanks, judging by their prices they gotta be good

Re smoking, I don't know what the current public smoking law in Geneva is - in Zurich pretty much all restaurants are smoking (to different extent). So unless Da Paolo is smoked up beyond normal it will be fine.

The best pizzas I've had in Geneva are at the top floor restaurant of the ILO (run by Eurest I think) only open midday (on weekdays) I'd imagine:

I'm definetly no "conoisseur" but I've had a lot of pizzas in Geneva and they are my favourite (=nicest crust).

Not the best location for a romantic meal but if you are in the area and looking for a relatively cheap lunch I would recommend it.

(not wanting to hijack your thread, but where do I get the best italian-style pizza in Zürich?)

It's all very relative, what's good for you is not necessarily good for me. You , for instance, may want a more tomato taste whereas i don't. I may not care too much about paying Sfr 25.-- for a pizza, you may...and so on.

Well thanks guys for the tips. We went to Da Paolo's and as described, it was exceptionally good. Maybe a bit heavy on topping and it won't de-throne Azzurro in Bern. All-in-all a great experience. We got there around 7 which is apparently too early for the locals so it was easy to get a table. Smoke wasn't an issue.

(Unlike at the concert venue later on - L'Usine. Seemed like everybody in Geneva smokes. Tindersticks played a flawless concert though. Great night.)

PS. go to www.pizzarating.ch to find places

hiya! i think you wanna say " connaisseurs"??... anyway, i just saw your message now.. so it's probably too late... but there is an excellent italian restaurant in geneva, near the university mail. it called " ponte vecchio" there is homemade pizza, flame stone oven, and homemade pastas! kinda delicious there! in case for your next trip to geneva! c ya

Try this:

Restaurant Da Paolo

Rue du Lac 3

1207 Genève/GE

022 736 30 49 Fax022 736 02 68

It's Pasta d'Oro.

Da Paolo is good, Ponte Vecchio too

But the real best is the tiny pizza restaurant Espresso Club at the rue des Pâquis 25 just to the side of Gelato Mania ( which is the best Gelateria in Geneva BTW )

Best pizza I had in Switzerland was at this Pizza-coffee bar in Vaduz... by FAR.

Hey y'all...I was wondering where can I find the best pizza in Geneva ???

Someone told me about one in Meyrin, it's the best he ever had, but he forgot the freakin' adress of the place. . .

Any sugestions welcomed...thanx y'all !!!

where is the best Italian pizza in Geneva

Hi!

Lot of people say that the really best one is Pasta d'Oro,

Rue Micheli-du-Crest 16

1205 Genève

022 329 72 98

It's near the Hospital

In Meyrin they are two good pizza:

Da Ettore

Il Frascati

Bye bye

The best I have found so far is La Cuccagna in Carouge, tram-stop Armes: http://www.resto-rang.ch/info.cfm?canton=GE&restono=745 .

The pizzas are awesome and the pasta is not only very good but also comes in a huge quantity (you actually get two plates - the 2nd one waiting for you in an oven while you are enjoying the first one ).

I have heard that Da Paolo's and another one called Il Carnevale di Venezia are quite good too, but I haven't been to those ones yet.

found two locations worth a visit in geneva with kids - thanks to your questions and thread. Who knows a good bar to have a drink (sort of All Bar One type) in Geneva or La Côte?? tx

Hi, I bring back this old post because the other one from Domino's reminded me I haven't got a good pizza in a while.

Which is for you the best pizza place that delivers home? (In Geneva area) And, because of my tight budget I have to ask also... which one is the cheapest?
