Thanks.
i only knew the European loop
Care to explain?
How arrogant.
Anyway, I just remembered that I have a scarf that does the infinite loop because the two ends zipper together. So you put it over you head then twist and put the other part over your head too. I love this scarf.
I'm actually going to buy another longer scarf!
Bad Aout!! :P
When in my teens, I used to stay overnight with a French friend and along with the more usual makeup, nail varnish, facial sessions beloved of the teenage girl, her mother used to come in and let us "view her Hermès scarves" and show us different ways to wear them.
In the end, one of the skills I still deploy (where as the nail varnish, facials, even make up some days has long gone ..)
Bumping this thread for the benefit of all EF members, male and female.
I find that "Wear a scarf" falls just under "Learn the local language" on the Important Things To Do To Insure That One Fits In Well In Switzerland list.
Nice vid and appropriate to the weather conditions.
I love scarves and have a big collection. They can make an outfit (much like shoes ).
The "celebrity knot" reminded me of one time when I was in a coffee place in Austin Texas and I was wearing a sheer silk scarf wrapped kind of like the example in the video, hair all pulled back in a low bun, and oversize dark sunglasses (yes, indoors...it'd been a late night but that's another story). The teenage kid behind the counter was kinda looking at me weird and as he handed me my urgently needed coffee he said "are you a movie star?". I burst out laughing! Not likely, believe me!
Moral of the story, a cool scarf and big sunnies can work wonders for your ego.
good to hear all your scarves stories...i starting wearing them only when we came to Switzerland
"so, you take two carrés and knot them together just so, et voilà, on a un halter-neck top suitable for wear when one is sitting at the Captain's table for dinner"
(Of course, this was 20 (ahem) years ago and dinner at the Captain's table could be considered the height of social attainment...)
