You've been Switzerlanded (orig. "Holy mother of god [Film developing cost]")

I guess we can now include the link for good measure:

Aw, thanks!

He has 2 Leicas, Nikon, Hasselblad, Rolleiflex, Kodak Rettina C, and a couple more.

Not that I know anything about them, but he loves them!

Typical film shooter then, more cameras then you know what to do with

You are so right! When we go out and I'm wondering which coat/handbag/shoes to use, he's trying to decide between cameras. He is particularly fond of the Hasselblad I think.

I have both problems! Which camera to go with the shoes

I love shooting with a Hasselblad.

Wasn’t there a topic on EF with outrageous prices in Switzerland?

In Crissier VD I’ve seen this Micasa small outdoor metal table “modèle d’exposition” for a mère 349.50.
I couldn’t believe it so I found it online, voilà, at 699:
Micasa Schaffner SÄNTIS

I think if I found it in Landi I’d deliberate if CHF100 weren’t too much.

That’s a Schaffner. That lasts for ever. Easy to clean even if outside all year. I grew up with those, while I didn’t know or feel they were mordern then, they are cult now. Some even started copying the system of the chairs which I remember are quiet comfi.

On the positive side, you can get 20% reduction with the code OUTDOOR, so there is nothing to complain about.

A couple of weeks ago I was in our PT cruiser when I could not change gear, the gear lever just flopped around.

The auto emergency service people said a rubber bush had failed in the linkage and tied it up with a cable binder.

I took it to a so-called Cruiser expert garage for fitting a new bush and they quoted me CHF900 to replace the whole linkage.

I took it home, found the correct bush in my box of odds and ends and installed it.

That’s interesting…the same thing happened to my 1968 Pagoda in the early 2000s. I crawled under the car and put a zip-tie on it. New bushing cost, I think, $1.95, so more expensive than yours.

To be honest I decided to change all the bushes while I was there so it did cost almost CHF 5 so you win

Not if you add time value of money and investment upside…imagine I’d spent $1.95 on Microsoft stock…I’d be a millionairess!

No, you really did get Switzerlanded. I paid 12.80 E´s for a 36er roll at Müller Drogerie, but the roll cost 18 Euros, when you can get them.
However I decided that the prints at Müllers were garishly colored shit and got my last batch from Camulet in Munich, that only cost 21 E´s.
And seeing that Ilford is still going strong on B&W rolls and Kodak is rumored to be bringing back Ektachrome I can see prices dropping.

You do realise Phil made that OP on EF 14 years ago?

Yet it still feels like yesterday!

He’s still paying it off…

Phil_MCR, are you still shocked by the Swiss prices? :slightly_smiling_face:
