Good Asian restaurants in Zurich city?

So what? You missed the Lebanese one, I would consider that not to be Asia.

Come on, this is a list of restaurants, not jeopardy

Another vote for Beyond, behind Zürich Hbf. Really excellent Chinese. My only complaint is that the service is slow. But the food more than makes up for it.

Both in Seefeld area both Japanese and tasty food:

Bimi and Ginger for sushi also heard that sushi in Globus is quite good never tried myself though.

Enguete!

DF

Visited Mitsu Mitsu recently and was surprised both about the taste of the food and sake. I think the cook used to work at Sala of Tokyo. Can't comment about the authenticity.

Asia Way In Oerlikon has been mentioned in the comments already but I agree. The quality is very nice and ha a wide selection of a la carte and lunch buffet.

I really, really, miss Peking duck with plum sauce and steamed pancakes, any recommendations in Zürich?

Just looked at the Achi menu, its about as Chinese as I am, and thats not saying a lot...

Nagasui Zurich city & Fujiya of Japan Glattbrug

Ban Song Thai for fresh and flavourful Thai food( http://www.bansongthai.ch/ ). Reservation recommended.

I've heard good things about the Valcan kries 5 klingenstr

Another great place although out the city is Chalet India well worth a visit.

They seldom get it right in China outside of Beijing so looking for it in Zürich is highly optimistic. Sorry to be a debbie downer, but username checks out.

Well I am used to reasonably good Cantonese and Szechuan restaurants in London, I am still hopeful

Restaurant Ach'i

Went there once. Nice food and good price. Many customers are chinese themselfs that must say something I dunno. There is a menu on their website.

Was at Malabar last night, my taste buds were pleasantly tingled.

Thank you for the indication!

Another thumbs-up for Wesleys http://www.wesleys-kitchen.ch/

They also have a stand set up in the ZH main station, in the corner nearest to Kreis 4. Just had an awesome Taiwan Bao (9 CHFs) and dumplings.

In terms of real DimSum, how does it compare to?

Was at Ah-Hua yesterday for lunch thank you to all those who had recommended this restaurant.

Pro: Great variety, big portions, great tasting food!

Contra: The place is a bit dowdy, crowded and noisy tho'...And...if you plan on having starters followed by your main course(s) remember to specify this or else they'll just bring everything at once.

(lesson learned for next time)

You know that you just mentioned the two regions of China that are the furthest away from your Beijing duck?

It sounds like you were at the Ah-Hua on Ankerstrasse. You should try the one on Brauerstrasse (essentially just around the corner). As far as I remember, it has the same food, but the place is smaller and has a spectacularly different atmosphere.

Ventured into Wesley's with a friend last week and was not disappointed. Wow! Tried the pork and vegetable bao and they were freaking amazing! Also tried the lunch special, garlic crispy shrimp and it was just perfectly cooked-- Fresh, tender, crispy, generous portion too. 18.50 CHF for the shrimp dish.

Short walk to the restaurant from Zurich Hauptbahnhof.

We were lucky to get a seat because many make reservations... but we arrived right at 11:30am (opening time).

Yep, atmosphere is better in the smaller one, but the food was in my experience better in the bigger one. Getting food whenever it is ready, not in some predefined sequence is btw rather authentic... that's how it works in most of Asia.
