For Japanese, Samurai VII at Badenerstrasse is very good
1st and best A'Chi , Northeast food from China, good taste and price. Must try is 'Guo bao rou'
2nd Beyond, Sichuan food, quite authentic, spicy and hot
3rd Lin, near Banhof Oerlikon, Chinese Hotpot buffet, good amount and price
4th Yang Guang, mixed Asian food, has buffet, so when you do notknow what to eat, it is a good place to go since it has a big selections
5th Meister Gao, food from south part of China, a bit blend, but has some dishes which can not find in other restaurant like fish, crab and 'Wu XI Pai Gu' (sweet flavored rib)
6th Wesley's kitchen, have good steammed Bum, but too pricy
7th Linlin Take away in kreis 6, for take away it is quite good, fast and can order something off menu
8th Tang near seebach, haven't been there for quite a while, from what I remember it does not have many customers but can also order off menu.
Try the cumin lamb, it's to die for.
I was recommended a place in Zug rail station, oh man it was just awful and sooo expensive
Bimi (try the Tempura)- Seefeldstrasse 25

1. I had some excellent genuine and authentic Italian food in Asia. But you can't go to the 10 CHF lunch menu places... for example here: http://www.ottoristorante.com.sg/
2. My wife is Chinese and she drags me to the most authentic Chinese restaurants she can find around the world and these days is it in most major cities not a big deal. For example in Paris is it no problem to find 100% authentic Szenchuan bbq fish ( http://www.newsavour.com/restaurants/detail/385/ ). We had equally authentic food in London, Amsterdam and even Vienna. But for some reason is Switzerland a rather large white spot on the map. Ach'i is indeed authentic, but simply not as good as Chinese restaurants in other major European cities. I assume that's simply the case because they don't have to be that outstanding to already stand out in Zurich....
Chinese - Hot Pot (Birmensdorferstrasse)
That's a good question.
I have seen in the answers that most mentioned restaurants are quite "westernized". So no authentic food.
I am really interested in knowing if there is a Korean BBQ place. Anyone?
It's near Bahnhof Wiedikon. I have eaten there and ordered take out before, and I found it amazing.
