Tesla EV discussion

Sounds like a lose lose contract to me

Can we stop talking sensibly about Tesla HP contracts and get back to laughing at Cyber Truck owners?

I agree, perhaps a kind mod can shunt these into a car leasing thread since the knowledge shared is quite valuable.

My post was a cheap joke. I don’t care where the posts go!

It’s cheap only if you don’t own a Cybertruck!

I read an article this morning and the new Cybertruck owner, who had only had it for a couple of hours before it broke down then remarked “Doesn’t my Cybertruck look awesome on the back of that tow truck!”

They say love is blind.

Sure, quite sensible to troll while OP is facing a potential loss.

Again - it’s humour (like the unwanted emails you keep sending me complaining about my posts).

I see you’ve done your full mod training - and passed with flying colours.

Well done you!

Tesla sales figures for last month are starting to drift in

Official data from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority showed on Wednesday that Tesla registrations in Germany, one of the largest European markets, fell 55% year over year in November to 2,208 units.

In Australia, its sales for the month were down 45 percent from the same month a year ago

Tesla’s sales of China-made electric vehicles fell 4.3% year-on-year

US sales -3% (estimated)

Nevertheless, Tesla’s share price rose almost 40% last month.

GF Berlin exports most of its production. So far, from what I’ve seen, their production-numbers are more or less constant.

As Australia is supplied by ship, the only relevant number is the yearly number.

I suspect there is some downturn, due to the arrival of cheaper Chinese cars.

It will be interesting to see if Tesla can make their projected sales-number for this year, which were quite ambitious given the overall consumer-climate.

Not sure they will much cheaper in the EU due to tariffs

The EU has implemented additional tariffs on Chinese EVs, with rates varying between 17% and 35.3%, depending on the manufacturer. These measures aim to address concerns about unfair subsidies and market competition.

France 24

Interestingly Switzerland doesn’t have any specific tariffs on imported EVs as long as they are under 1,600kg.

I meant for Australia.

They don’t have tariffs (or they aren’t high), likely due to the lack of a domestic car industry.

BMW and Nissan EVs outsold the Tesla Model Y in the UK for the first time in November, with Model Y sales down over 20% vs last year’s November.

The Cooper and Qashqai aren’t EVs. The fact is The Model Y is still the top selling EV in the UK.

edit My bad, they do have electric variants… jesus.

When it comes to manufacturers, domestic firms are leading the way. Mini, who operate out of Oxford, saw their electric models equate to 37% of their total new car sales, with the BMW Group selling more EVs than Tesla last month.

The Nissan is hybrid so OK

Tesla’s Model Y is weeks away from its first and major upgrade. I’m not sure I would be buying one now - despite some great deals…

Downloaded Tesla software 2024.44.25.2 a couple of days ago, but had not had the chance to try it until today.

ASS (Actually Smart Summon) now works with cameras. Apple Watch now works as key and other functions as on the iPhone App, which must put developers who were charging for their App out of business.

There’s a bunch of other stuff - much of which is for kids - but in today’s rain test where it stops and starts the wipers actually work perfectly. Only took 5 years…

One of those „How hard can it be?“ things

I’ve been using Tessie for almost a year and the Apple Watch app works flawlessly. I’ll probably continue using it because the wider suite of Tessie software is very useful in collecting analytics e.g. charge ramps, vehicle vitals, journey histories with efficiency stats, battery health etc…
