Tesla EV discussion

More like “couldn’t care less” :stuck_out_tongue:

Currently trying to figure out how to get a BYD in Switzerland, but in a worst case may end up with a genadier next…

That’s a great worst case.

Oops!

Beyond the jokes, has anyone seen a refreshed model Y on the road?

PS. Q1 earnings next Tuesday 22.04.2025

I’m on a lease so as soon as it ends in Feb 2026, I will hand it back.

Saw one on Monday. They do look good.

That will be one hell of a quarter.

Tesla sold 5,400 vehicles in China last week, down 13% from the same week in 2024

Year to date numbers

In January 2025, Musk finally admitted that HW3 computers are not powerful enough to achieve unsupervised self-driving capability.

If this is true then it is another big financial problem Tesla does not need.

The take-rate of FSD is apparently low enough that it won’t materially impact the company.

Also, Electrek has become a Tesla- and Elon bashing site that is more painful to read every day.
Just because the owner got but-hurt over some spat with Elon.

It’s become the #1 source for Tesla clickbait articles.

I just foubd the BYD weekly sales in Chia year to date, I thought it would be interesting to compare with Tesla

The point is that Musk stated that the cars from 2016 and later had the hardware necessary for FSD. It doesn’t matter whether the buyer took the FSD option or not. In order to meet that promise all cars need to be upgraded. Perhaps the owners take a lump sum makegood, but that’ll cost as well.

Assuming of course that the article is factually correct.

Because of Elon or you’re not happy with your car anymore?

Seen yesterday at a charging station in Canton Bern.

I was about to write vandalism is very rare in Switzerland! OMG..

It doesn’t make any sense, it’s some owners that paid their hard earned money on these cars. It’s so senseless, really.

There’s graffiti everywhere. Isn’t that vandalism?

Yeah, that’s a “lighter” form of vandalism, I admit I didn’t think of that.

The car is faultless, and if musk steps down as CEO then I’d reconsider buying it at the end of its lease. I put down a large deposit and the finance was 0%, so it was essentially meant to be a ‘lease to buy’.

Well, a lot can happen in a year.
I’m not sure what Elon’s going to do.
I do believe he ultimately will accept responsibility.

Q2 and Q3 results could force some sort of decision.

China getting difficult

Shortly after Tesla launched FSD in China, the American automaker had to pause its rollout due to updated requirements from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Now, MIIT has confirmed that it held a meeting with automotive industry stakeholders yesterday, and it has further clarified the rollout of advanced driver assistance (ADAS) features.

Makers will have to study the details before they can say what the impact will be on their FSD plans.

China is worried about the history of accidents and traffic violations
