This is the latest list I found of ‘Patriots for Europe’ group
There are Italian members but none from Meloni whose party has 6 MEPs if I found the correct list.

Thanks, marton. Sneaky Orban…(btw Fidesz didn’t start off as far-right)
Although the Patriots group is only slightly larger than ID, which had 73 MEPs when it was formed in 2019, its presence in the Parliament is more pronounced due to the reduction in the overall number of MEPs from 751 to 720.
With 84 MEPs, the Patriots have surpassed both the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), which has 78 MEPs, and the liberal Renew Europe, with 76 MEPs, achieving Orbán’s initial goal of becoming the third force in the European Parliament.
Not at all, you’re again focusing on your leaves and missing the forest. I am giving you one explanation why the far right has surged across Europe. You are making the exact same logical mistake like Macron (who ignored Le Pen too long), Scholz (whose naivete allowed the AfD to dominate the discussion in Germany for far too long), etc., etc. I am by conviction and instinct a moderate right and have a natural distaste for the far right. But we do not learn from mistakes and the attitude you and Komsomolez have is the exact same reason why the Nazis came to power. Because they were ignored for far too long.
Even today, Fidesz is not far right, the media likes to portray them as such for convenience, but if anything, they are much closer to the Nazi style National Socialism than to a true right. They would screw up banks to “lower” payments to mortgage holders, they would allocate national concessions / monopoles to friends and disregard free market competition, they would control the media, etc etc.
Maybe take a breath. I have made my views on immigration and the handling of it clear to the sober reader. Just because seeing Macron and Scholz on TV somehow triggers you does not mean I am naive, blind or have my head in the sand.
Disappointing.
Nothing triggers me like the political naiveté which has plagued the western part of Europe for the better part of the last two decades. Be it Russia, immigration or the far right.
edit: my sentiment exactly:
He promised to be France’s centrist hope after decades of division, the great reformer who would jolt France to the forefront of global business. He’s now staring at what will certainly be his real legacy: Macron opened the door to the far right in France.
Unheard and ignored was how many working French citizens felt in 2023, as anger at a hike in the retirement age sparked months of protests. It was a gordian knot of Macron’s own making.
Luckily in France the far right put up a lot of bad candidates and were incompetent.
Corruption investigation opened against Le Pen today
.
Yes, yes, lets see how competent the 72 year old Communist Melenchon is. And sure, judicial attacks on your political opponents have done miracles in political campaigns so far. As I said, we never learn…
As an aside, it seems to be a right wing disease… Reform UK has questions to answer whether some of its candidates weren’t AI generated.
You do like to spread these far-right conspiracy theories.
Macron’s party did not have an absolute majority before this year’s election after their losses in the 2022 election so it is not like France is entering a new scenario.
Laughable Marton. Do you read ANY reliable news source or you rely only on your own…whatever source you use?
Just because I like you, read this carefully. Twice if needed.
"…Voters delivered a fractured National Assembly roughly split into three blocs — an unprecedented outcome in postwar France since there has never been an election where it was unclear afterwards who would govern.
LOL! “a reliable news source”
Do read this
“The 2022 elections have been described as the most indecisive legislative elections since the establishment of the five-year presidential term in 2000 and subsequent change of the electoral calendar in 2002.
The governing Ensemble coalition remained the largest bloc in the National Assembly but substantially lost its ruling majority, resulting in the formation of France’s first minority government since 1993; for the first time since 1997, the incumbent president of France did not have an absolute majority in Parliament.
As no alliance won a majority, it resulted in a hung parliament for the first time since 1988.”
So hung Parliament then and hung Parliament now.
It is quite clear that with the emergence of new parties and the weakening of traditional ones, new majorities have to be found. Most likely there are less stable and maybe not even formal. And they will have to include populist parties in some form. Also that is democracy.
To paint every legal investigation into populist parties as politically motivated is unserious, undermines the rule of law and parrots right-wing talking points.
So we agree it IS a new scenario for France.
My point was general and is valid for many European countries. I did not partake in your “discussion” about France.
So we agree it IS a new scenario for many European countries?
Let’s see who and how is going to clean up the mess after his lot is gone.
I still hope his lot wont even make it to any executive position…Although, some Western European countries need a few years of communism just to cure them forever from this cancerous ideology.
Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), cut-off from many other far-right parties in the European Parliament, managed to launch its own parliamentary group, the third coalition to the right of the EPP in the European Parliament on Wednesday (10 July).
The new group is dominated by a 14-member delegation from Germany, followed by smaller delegations from seven other nations, bringing the total number of MEPs to 25 – enough for the group to be officially recognised as an EU group.
Meanwhile, Orban continues his one-man peace mission moving on from China to Turkey, hopefully N. Korea and Iran next.
Not sure why you decided to reply to my post with this piece of news…You need an explanation? AfD is the most odious of the far right parties and it’s unsurprising that its being shunned even by Le Pen.
